500 Words on The Social Network

The Social Network is a movie based on the origins of how facebook got started and the guy that made it. Mark Zuckerberg is played as a smart asshole that doesn’t really care about others or about actual social events. He’s seemingly emotionless, but his actions prove otherwise later in the movie. He goes to school for programming and is really good at it. The movie opens up with him on a date with his girlfriend and ends up with her breaking up with him. Clearly to everyone that it was his fault, everyone except him. He insists that she did it because he is a nerd, but she tells him it’s because he’s an asshole. He goes home and get drunk. He decides to talk shit about her on his blog. At the same time he makes a website that has him hack top college internet security and take pictures of every girl. The website shows you various girls and you decide which one is hotter. He gets a lot of views that get him noticed by members of a Final Club, which he desperately wants a part of. They notice his skills as a web designer and ask him to make a website for them, He says yes, but never does, He makes a better similar idea, thus Facebook is created, These members try to sue him and his friend for stealing their idea, but Mark swears that they didn’t use any of thier code and made a better idea and website. The site gets popular and expands out to more places. Mark and his best friend Eduardo start seeing it as a buisness, but have different views. Eduardo wants to try and market slowly while Mark wants to make big progress fast. Eventually the guy who started nabster finds them and helps Mark turn the website into a big company behind Eduardo’s back. Mark even tricks Eduardo into doing stuff, Mark is now very wealthy, but has made a lot of enemies from being an asshole. Eduardo and the Final Club members sue Mark. This is how the rest of the story is told. In the court sessions where it’s from flashbacks from the main characters, but not at the same place or time. They would show a scene and then go to one of the people describing it as if they were telling someone about that scene  the whole time. In the end he gets sued and ends up alone. This whole movie had a couple themes such as Greed and identity. I think identity was the main one. The identity them showed itself many times. The identity of our generation and how we all interact relating to facebook. The way people were nosy about other peoples info and wanting to have friends on there and how important it was to add all these people and be a a part of it.I enjoyed this movi a lot and it was the first time I seen it, so it was all new to me.
